During February and March 2021, asylum seekers and granted asylums attended trainings in the Serbian language with business correspondence and digital literacy. The trainings were conducted by the Branko Pešić Elementary School. The pilot group of the project included asylum seekers in the centers in Krnjača and Banja Koviljača, as well as granted asylums mainly with accommodation on the territory of the city of Belgrade. In accordance with the epidemiological situation, as well as the regulations on the manner of organizing classes of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, training for 40 participants was organized in four groups. One group attended classes at the school, and distance learning was organized for three groups.
The total number of training hours is 100, 50 hours of language training and 50 of digital literacy.
The goal of the training was achieved and the participants acquired the language skills necessary for functioning in everyday life. The importance of using information and communication technology in everyday life, searching for a job, finding information, etc. is especially emphasized. The training encouraged most participants to be useful members of the society in which they live. It is gratifying that the participants realized the importance of lifelong learning.
