The target group of the pilot project implemented by the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs under the Fast track action boost will be the asylum-seekers residing in the asylum centres Bogovadja (Lajkovac) and Banja Koviljаča (Loznica), including the persons with the granted asylum located mostly in the territory of the City of Belgrade. This was agreed at the first meeting of the Working Group held on 19 December 2019 at the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs.
The Working Group composed of the members of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs also include members of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, National Employment Service and Commissariat for the Refugees and Migrations of the Republic of Serbia, has concluded that the pilot project activities need to be focused to the Serbian language education since the language skill has been indicated as a key obstacle for labour market integration. Also, training courses/workshops will be organized for asylum-seekers and asylum holders to inform them on the procedures, rules and opportunities for labour market integration. The establishment of the Assistance and Support Service for the referred to persons will be another activity under the pilot project, to inform, refer or provide guidance for further steps, the members of the Working Group decided.
These conclusions, including the results of the survey conducted in Serbia – challenges of labour market integration, will be presented at the local empowerment workshop to be held from 22 to 23 January 2020, with the participation of, among others, members of the Municipality Milan, the lead project partner.
